Did you know, that according to PV Tech, that "Japan is aiming to have 108GW of solar capacity by 2030, 1.7 times higher than the country’s previous target"?
This new target, Sean Rai-Roche, journalist, says, was "presented by the Japan’s environment and trade ministries and comes as it said it would reduce its emissions by 46% by 2030 compared with 2013 levels."
The country wants to install solar panel farms on at least half of its central governmental buildings as well as other buildings in the area. And the Japanese government also has put a plan into motion to expand its land availability in order to have room for more solar farms.
Right now, PV Tech reports, that approximately 70% of the country's energy is coming from coal or natural gas use.
